Don’t be afraid to AMEND those IEP GOALS! So much goes into designing, writing and implementing IEP goals. Assess and gather those present levels, design your instruction, take data, review and repeat! Most likely if you are amending it’s because the student is making great gains. What should all TAs have a base knowledge of in order to be successful? I’m working on a 5 part training series for my staff including data collection methods, creating student independence, reducing prompts, academic strategies for small groups, crisis deescalation, confidentiality and communication with teachers!
